The Jamestown Fire Department extinguished an oven fire on Sunday afternoon, November 30, 2023, at a residential property located at 901 2nd Ave. NE in northeast Jamestown. According to Captain Sheldon Mohr, the department received a report of the fire and promptly dispatched three units and 18 firefighters to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that the fire had already been put out. They quickly ventilated the smoke from the property to ensure that no residual hazards remained. Firefighters remained on site for approximately 15 minutes to confirm that the situation was safe and that the fire had not spread beyond the oven.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. The Jamestown Police Department and the Jamestown Area Ambulance also responded to the call, although their assistance was not required in this case.
