University of Delaware Student Arrested with Guns and Plans

URGENT UPDATE: A 25-year-old University of Delaware student has been arrested after authorities discovered weapons and alarming plans targeting the campus police department. Luqmaan Khan was taken into custody just before midnight on November 24, 2023, following a police check in Wilmington, Delaware.

Officials report that the investigation commenced when police observed Khan’s white Toyota Tacoma parked in a local park after hours. When approached, Khan allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and resisted arrest, prompting officers to take action. Inside the Tacoma, police found a loaded handgun, extended magazines, body armor, a laptop, and binoculars.

Most disturbingly, authorities unveiled a notebook containing detailed drawings and notes about the University of Delaware Police Department. This notebook reportedly included a diagram of the department’s building, complete with marked entry and exit points, and referenced an individual officer by name. Such revelations have raised serious concerns regarding safety on campus.

Interim university president Laura Carlson confirmed that Khan is an undergraduate student and announced a ban on his access to all University of Delaware campuses while the investigation unfolds.

Further investigation revealed that when federal authorities searched Khan’s home, they discovered another handgun equipped with an illegal switch, allowing it to be converted into a machine gun. Authorities are treating this incident with the utmost seriousness, given the potential threat posed by Khan’s actions.

Khan now faces multiple felony weapons charges, including possession of a large capacity magazine and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He has been transferred to the custody of the FBI for additional charges.

This situation highlights the urgent need for vigilance and security on college campuses across the nation. As the investigation continues, students, faculty, and parents are encouraged to remain alert and report any suspicious activity.
