The Groton Hill Music Center in Groton is set to host a series of festive performances this December, providing a variety of shows designed to elevate the holiday spirit. From classical compositions to vibrant jazz and folk, the lineup features something for all music enthusiasts.
Stephanie J. Block, a Tony Award-winning actress known for her role in “The Cher Show,” will inaugurate the holiday season with a performance on December 6, 2023. Block’s show will include a blend of nostalgic holiday songs and popular Broadway numbers, promising an engaging evening for attendees.
On December 7, the American string band Mr. Sun will present their unique interpretation of Duke Ellington’s adaptation of Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Suite.” Following that, acclaimed a cappella group Take 6 will perform their holiday show, titled “Spread Love at Christmas,” on December 10.
The holiday festivities continue with the Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, which will take the stage on December 21. Known for their vibrant performances that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, the chorus will deliver their much-anticipated holiday show, “HOLIGAYS.”
Exciting Performances and Diverse Genres
The season also features the Vista Philharmonic Orchestra, which will present five shows from December 11 to 14. Led by conductor Bruce Hangen, this holiday pops experience is particularly popular with families, with tickets starting at an accessible $30. Julie LeBlanc, Assistant Director of Marketing at Groton Hill, remarked, “Families love those performances.”
Additional performances include the Nefesh Mountain Band with their Love and Light Tour on December 17, the Groton Hill Big Band celebrating holiday standards on December 18, and the Irish acoustic group Lúnasa on December 19. Finally, jazz singer Jane Monheit will return to the concert hall on December 20 to wrap up the holiday events.

The Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, which has built a strong reputation for their energetic and heartfelt performances, will bring their signature blend of heart, humor, and musical excellence to the stage. Marketing and Partnerships Manager Ben Arnold expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Groton Hill, stating, “The venue’s stunning acoustics, breathtaking design, and welcoming atmosphere create the perfect canvas for the magic of the season.”
Arnold noted that this year’s “HOLIGAYS” production will feature larger-than-life choral numbers, moving stories, and brilliant costumes, making it a cherished tradition for families and friends across the region.
