The popular cooperative first-person shooter, Killing Floor 3, has launched a significant update titled Season 2: Operation Breakout. This update introduces a range of new content, including a seasonal narrative campaign, a survival map, and a new playable character named DJ Scully. The update was showcased in a trailer during the recent PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted.
Alongside the new character, players can expect an additional weapon, as well as two new weapon modifications inspired by real-world designs. Significantly, the update reintroduces the Stalker specimen, a character that had been absent from Killing Floor 3 but was a staple in the previous two installments. The launch of Operation Breakout also includes a new map called Jungle Prison, which promises to deliver intense gameplay experiences. As players navigate this environment, they will encounter the Stalker, which can appear unexpectedly, intensifying the game’s suspenseful atmosphere.
In addition to the narrative content, the update features performance enhancements and game balance adjustments. Changes include modifications to weapon recoil and damage, a reduction in the cost of weapons and mods, and various stat buff adjustments. These refinements aim to enhance the overall gameplay experience.
The Rearmament update, set to be released on Halloween, will further expand the game with new weapons and a revamped perk system, along with essential bug fixes and performance improvements.
