S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia, a prominent figure in the Lake Elmo community and former St. Paul City Councilman, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 86. His contributions to local governance and business have left a lasting impact on the area.
Nicosia was preceded in death by his children, Bobby, Dawn, and Kristi, as well as his sister, Tanny Armstrong. He is remembered fondly by his loving wife of 66 years, Roxanne, and his daughter, Lynne. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, including Bob Pasiuk (Laura), Andrea Perzichilli (Marco), Chris Pasiuk (Alison), Sonnie Mason, Nick Montanari (Meredith), Nate Montanari (Corionna), and Thomas Nicosia, along with nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Armstrong, and brother, John, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Career and Community Involvement
Throughout his life, Nicosia owned and operated several businesses, demonstrating a strong entrepreneurial spirit. His commitment to public service was evident during his tenure as a St. Paul City Councilman in the 1980s. He also served on the St. Paul Port Authority, contributing significantly to the community’s development and growth.
Beyond his professional achievements, Nicosia was known for his love of family and leisure activities. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin, traveling, golfing, and watching NASCAR. His passion for life was evident in the way he cherished moments with family and friends.
The family expressed heartfelt gratitude to Lakeview Hospice and Care Apparent for the compassionate care provided to Nicosia during his final days. They also appreciated the support from everyone who visited and offered their love during his illness.
Memorial Service Details
A service honoring Chris Nicosia will take place on December 19, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear, MN. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service, allowing friends and family to pay their respects and celebrate his life.
As the community mourns the loss of a dedicated public servant, many will remember S. Chris “Sonny” Nicosia not only for his contributions to local governance but also for the warmth and love he shared with those around him.
