On January 17, 2024, at 19:30, the Niswonger Performing Arts Center (NPAC) in Greeneville will host a special concert titled Twitty & Lynn: A Salute to Conway & Loretta. This event celebrates the legacy of country music legends Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, featuring their grandchildren, Tre Twitty and Tayla Lynn.
This internationally acclaimed show showcases Tre and Tayla as they honor their grandparents and the enduring tradition of country duet singing. Rather than impersonating the iconic duo, they serve as “ambassadors” and “caretakers of the past,” sharing personal stories and insights into the musical heritage of the Twitty and Lynn families.
Celebrating Iconic Hits and Personal Legacy
The concert will feature beloved duets such as “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” and “After the Fire Is Gone,” along with solo hits like “Hello, Darlin’” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” Tre and Tayla aim not only to entertain but also to keep the memory of their grandparents alive through music.
Beyond the performance, both artists are committed to preserving the full legacy of their grandparents. Tre is actively campaigning for Conway Twitty’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, building on his grandfather’s existing recognition in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Tayla is dedicated to preserving Loretta’s iconic fashion, even wearing one of her grandmother’s outfits during performances at the Grand Ole Opry.
“We want to keep that flame burning,” Tre said, emphasizing the importance of sharing the authenticity and passion that defined Conway and Loretta’s performances.
A New Generation of Country Music
In 2022, Tre and Tayla made their debut at the Grand Ole Opry, performing “Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man” on the same stage where their grandparents once captivated audiences. While they honor the past, the duo is also carving out their own artistic path, with plans for an album featuring original songs and covers that reflect a distinctly ’70s country and Americana style.
Tickets for the concert start at $35 and can be purchased online at NPACgreeneville.com or through the NPAC Box Office by calling 423-638-1679. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 to 17:00, and doors will open one hour before the show begins.
This concert promises to be a memorable tribute to two of country music’s most beloved figures, ensuring that their legacy continues to inspire both longtime fans and a new generation of listeners.
