California Man Sentenced to 75-150 Years for Assaulting Teen

A California man has been sentenced to a prison term ranging from 75 to 150 years for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Pennsylvania. Don A. Robison, aged 44 and from Milpitas, was convicted by a jury in Blair County in February 2024 on multiple charges, including unlawful contact with a minor and indecent assault of a child. The court has classified him as a sexually violent predator, a designation indicating he poses a continuing threat to the public.

According to Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, Robison was already a registered sex offender in California when he targeted the victim in Pennsylvania. Prosecutors revealed that he posed online as a 13-year-old child, gradually gaining the girl’s trust through various electronic communications.

After building this online relationship, Robison traveled to Altoona, Pennsylvania, where he convinced the victim to disable her home’s security systems. This action allowed him to enter her residence and commit the sexual assault.

Attorney General Sunday emphasized that Robison exploited the trust of a vulnerable child, underscoring the seriousness of his actions. He stated that the lengthy sentence ensures Robison will no longer pose a threat to other children.

The case was prosecuted by Deputy Attorney General Kimberly Moraski and Deputy Attorney General Jacob Jividen, who worked diligently to bring this case to justice. The outcome serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat child exploitation and protect vulnerable individuals from predatory behavior.

This case highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting children from online predators and the severe consequences that can follow such heinous acts. The substantial sentence reflects the courts’ commitment to safeguarding the community and deterring similar offenses in the future.
