In a separate incident on the same day, a resident of W. 130th Street contacted authorities after falling victim to a fraudulent scheme. The man reported that someone impersonating his accountant convinced him to withdraw $20,000 and deposit it into a bitcoin machine. Fortunately, he recognized the scam before completing the transaction and retained his funds. Police are looking into the case but have not identified any suspects.
Another resident from Webster Road also visited the police station on December 6 to report that his PayPal account had been hacked. The details of the breach remain unclear, and, like the previous cases, there are no suspects identified at this time. The police are actively investigating this incident as well.
Additionally, a parent from Pine Tree Place reached out to the police regarding behavioral concerns involving her 14-year-old daughter. The parent was seeking guidance on how to address the escalating issues.
