Two administrators at the Trinity United Methodist Church Child Development Center in Huntsville, Alabama, have been placed on administrative leave following serious allegations involving a former employee. On January 23, 2026, Cameron White, a 24-year-old former employee, was arrested and charged with one count of sexual abuse of a child under 12 years old. The charges stem from allegations of inappropriate contact between White and a child, which prompted the daycare’s officials to alert the Madison County Department of Human Resources.
In a letter sent to parents, the Head Pastor, Rev. Dr. Dedric Cowser, explained the decision to place Sheryl Raddin, the Child Development Center Director, and Megan Tarin, the Associate Director, on leave. Rev. Dr. Cowser stated that this action was necessary due to the gravity of the situation and their responsibility to assess whether appropriate protocols were adhered to.
Rev. Dr. Cowser emphasized that placing the administrators on leave does not imply a conclusion has been reached. Instead, it allows the church to conduct a thorough review of documentation, reporting, and communication procedures related to the incident. During this interim period, oversight of the Child Development Center will be managed by Executive Pastor Rev. Carrie Jones and Classroom Success Coordinator Heather Atkinson. They are committed to providing stability and continuity of care while ensuring open communication with families.
In his letter, Rev. Dr. Cowser expressed deep empathy for the affected families, stating, “Our hearts are breaking alongside yours, and we remain committed to walking through this season with care, honesty, and compassion.” He reassured parents that their children’s well-being remains a priority during this challenging time.
In addition to the administrative changes, a lawsuit is being filed against Cameron White, the Trinity Child Development Center, and Trinity United Methodist Church. Attorney Bart Siniard from Siniard Law, LLC, is representing the victims in this case, claiming abuse and negligence.
As the investigation progresses, the church community is urged to remain united while the necessary reviews are conducted, emphasizing the importance of transparency and support for all families involved.
