Blue Devils Aim for Strong Finish Against Wildcats in Season Finale

The Tift County Blue Devils will seek to end their season on a high note as they host the Camden County Wildcats in their regular season finale on October 30, 2025, at Brodie Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 19:30. With a record of 3-6 overall and 0-4 in Region 1 6A, the Blue Devils are coming off a challenging 48-35 defeat to Valdosta. In that match, Tift initially led 7-0 and later 14-7 before Valdosta surged ahead, maintaining a two-score lead for much of the game.

Despite the setback, head coach Jeff Littleton expressed optimism regarding his team’s offensive performance. “We had a couple of long drives over 13 plays,” Littleton stated. “When you’re executing and moving the chains at that rate, it’s really good execution. We also had some explosive plays that were critical.” He emphasized the need for the Blue Devils to build on these offensive successes while maintaining ball security and creating further scoring opportunities.

As they prepare to clash with Camden, Tift will face a Wildcats defense that has shown inconsistencies in region play. Although the Wildcats have accumulated impressive statistics this season, including 15 sacks and 70 tackles-for-loss, their effectiveness has diminished during crucial regional matchups, yielding only two sacks in four games. Littleton acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting the importance of controlling the line of scrimmage against a formidable Camden pass rush.

“They like to apply edge pressure with their outside linebackers while mixing in inside rushes,” Littleton explained. “It’s crucial that we maintain our fundamentals and stay focused to execute effectively.”

Turnovers present another significant concern for the Blue Devils. The Wildcats have proven adept at forcing turnovers, claiming five fumbles and an interception in region play. “They are very athletic in their secondary and among their linebackers,” Littleton noted. “We need to be mindful of securing the ball while making catches and during exchanges between the quarterback and running backs.”

While the outcome of this game will not impact playoff standings for either team, Littleton is approaching the contest with the seriousness of a postseason matchup. “We want to execute and play well in our last game,” he said. “We’re treating this like a playoff game. Our goal is to end on a winning note and build momentum for the next season.”

With both teams looking to finish their seasons positively, fans can expect an intense showdown at Brodie Field this Friday. The Blue Devils are determined to harness their offensive capabilities against a Wildcats team aiming to regain its defensive prowess.
