UPDATE: The Maui County Committee on the Status of Women has just announced the opening of nominations for the prestigious 2025 Women of Excellence Awards. This initiative aims to honor extraordinary women who have made a significant impact in their communities, and the nomination window is officially open now!
The awards celebrate local heroines under the theme “Ka Holomua Laulima! Nā Wahine Hoʻoulu Hanauna,” meaning “Moving Forward Together: Women Educating and Inspiring Generations.” This year’s focus highlights the profound influence of women leaders and mentors across Maui County.
Nominations are sought for several categories: the Young Woman of Promise for ages 14–21, the Woman of Excellence for ages 22–59, and the Unsung Hero award for those aged 60 and older.
