The Annual Friends of the Conant Public Library Arts & Crafts Show will take place at a new venue this year, promising ample parking and room for over 50 vendors. Shoppers are invited to visit the Houghton Elementary and Chocksett Middle Schools in Sterling, Massachusetts, on November 22, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The event will showcase a variety of high-quality, handmade gift and holiday items crafted by local artisans.
In recent years, this popular juried event, previously hosted at the First Church in Sterling, has attracted an increasing number of attendees. According to Beth Cyr, chairperson of the craft fair, “The new venue allows space for even more artists and craftspeople.” With the expansion, shoppers can expect a diverse selection of goods, including returning favorites and exciting new offerings.
The fair will feature an array of handmade items such as alpaca products, aromatherapy goods, baskets, beach glass art, skincare items, candles, caned chairs, cork products, crochet pieces, and embellished flannel shirts for all ages. Other highlights include floral arrangements, jams and jellies, jewelry, ornaments, pottery, and wood crafts. New participants will introduce products like maple syrup, pet portraits, olive oil, sambal sauces, and custom wreaths.
In addition to shopping, attendees can enjoy traditional activities such as the bake sale, cheese sale, raffle, and lunch café, all of which will continue at the new location. Admission is set at $2, with proceeds benefiting programs at the Conant Public Library. Each visitor will receive a “Passport” to be stamped at three locations, providing a chance to win a prize.
The event is co-sponsored by All One Credit Union. Although all vendor spaces are currently filled, interested artisans can contact Beth Cyr at [email protected] to join the waiting list for future opportunities. This year’s fair promises to uphold the festive spirit of the holiday season while supporting local artistry and community initiatives.
