UPDATE: Freshman standout Logyn Greer delivered a stunning performance, scoring a season-high 19 points and leading the CU Buffs to an emphatic 77-45 victory over Portland State on November 16, 2025, at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colorado.
This decisive win comes as the Buffs (2-1) displayed exceptional defense, forcing a staggering 26 turnovers and recording 18 steals, the highest for the team since November 28, 2023. The Buffs’ defensive prowess was evident, holding the Vikings to just 36.4% shooting throughout the game.
Greer, who struggled early in the season, shined bright during the crucial third quarter, scoring 10 points and helping the team extend a 14-point halftime lead to a commanding 23-point advantage by the end of the third. “At the start of the season, I was like a deer in headlights,” Greer stated. “But now I’m really starting to get into it and just understand and play with pace.”
Notably, Greer was not alone in her efforts. Zyanna Walker contributed significantly with eight points, five steals, and six assists, while Anaelle Dutat added six points and ten rebounds, showcasing a well-rounded team effort that overwhelmed Portland State (1-2).
“Great win,” said Buffs head coach JR Payne. “So many different people played. We rebounded incredibly well in the second half.”
The game also marked a moment of honor for former Buffs star Jaylyn Sherrod, who was recognized with a place on the Wall of Honor. Sherrod, now with the WNBA’s Minnesota Lynx, made history as the first former Buff to win a WNBA championship in 2024.
As the Buffs prepare to host Boise State on Tuesday at 7 p.m. (ESPN+), this victory not only solidifies their momentum but also builds confidence heading into a challenging schedule. With their defense tightening and players like Greer finding their rhythm, the Buffs are poised for a successful season ahead.
Fans can expect another thrilling matchup as the CU Buffs look to continue their winning streak, with eyes on Greer’s rising star and the team’s evolving dynamic on the court.
