URGENT UPDATE: Young basketball players in Kauai, get ready! Registration for the highly anticipated 2026 Hoopster Plus Developmental Basketball Program opens on November 26 at 8 a.m. The Kauai Department of Parks and Recreation confirms there will be no registration fees, making it easier for families to sign up their fourth graders.

Parents are encouraged to log onto the Parks and Recreation Basketball Programs site right at 8 a.m. to secure a spot for their aspiring athletes. This program is not just a routine drill—it’s a crucial stepping stone for children transitioning from the less competitive Mini and Junior Hoopsters leagues to more serious youth basketball competitions.

Sessions kick off on January 5 and will be held at the Kalāheo Neighborhood Center Gym. Participants will benefit from two sessions each week on Mondays and Wednesdays, totaling eight sessions to sharpen their dribbling, shooting, and defensive skills under the guidance of experienced instructors.

For those eager to learn more, a program flyer is readily available on the County’s official website. Direct inquiries can be made to Clyde Vito at 808-335-3731 or via email at [email protected].
