Cleveland Jewish News Honors 18 Difference Makers on December 11

The Cleveland Jewish News will host its annual **18 Difference Makers** reception and awards ceremony on **December 11, 2025**, at **Landerhaven** in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. This marks the 10th year of this signature event, which celebrates individuals making significant contributions to the community.

Among this year’s honorees is **Erika Gold**, a **93-year-old Holocaust survivor**, who will receive the **Sam Miller Lifetime Achievement Award**. Gold, recognized in the inaugural class of **CJN 18 Difference Makers** in **2015**, has dedicated decades to sharing her experiences with schools and community organizations. Her resilience and commitment to education serve as an inspiration to many.

**Lee Fisher**, the president of **Baldwin Wallace University**, will be awarded the **Civic Leadership Award** from the **Krause Family Foundation**. Fisher previously served as the dean of the **Cleveland State University College of Law** until June 30, 2023. His leadership in academia and community engagement has made a lasting impact.

Another notable recognition will go to the **Wain family**, comprising **Beth Wain Brandon**, **Amy Wain**, **Cathy Stamler**, and **David Wain**. They will receive the **Generation Award** for their family’s legacy of leadership and community involvement. The late **Norman Wain**, their father, was a prominent radio station owner and served as chair and honorary life director of the **Cleveland Jewish Publication Company**.

As **Kevin S. Adelstein**, publisher and CEO of the Cleveland Jewish News, expressed, “This year’s honorees embody the spirit of leadership, resilience, and community that the Cleveland Jewish News is proud to celebrate.”

The **Sam Miller Lifetime Achievement Award** has previously honored individuals such as **Michael Siegal** in **2023**, **Lois Goodman** in **2022**, and **Milton and Tamar Maltz** in **2019**. Recipients of the **Civic Leadership Award** include **Dan Moulthrop** in **2019** and **Judge Dan Aaron Polster** in **2018**. The **Generation Award** has been awarded to families like the **Wuliger family** in **2023** and the **Yanowitz family** in **2022**.

This year’s **CJN 18 Difference Makers** class features a diverse group of community leaders, including **Linda Angart**, a dedicated community volunteer, and **Chaya Dalya Berezovsky**, president of **Sweet Dreams for Kids**. Other honorees include **Richard S. Block**, **Jerry Brodsky**, **Mark Cheplowitz**, and **Sharon Sobol Jordan**, among others.
