The UC Davis Children’s Hospital has kicked off its seventh annual Virtual Holiday Toy Drive, aimed at providing gifts to pediatric patients spending the holidays in the hospital. Running until December 24, 2023, the initiative allows donors to select gifts from a curated wish list or contribute financially towards the purchase of toys.
This year, the donations will benefit not only children at the UC Davis Children’s Hospital but also patients at the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and the UC Davis MIND Institute. Funds raised will go towards purchasing toys and games, which will be used throughout the year for patient birthdays, milestones, and other celebrations. Moreover, the donations will help replenish hospital playrooms with engaging activities for young patients.
Diana Sundberg, manager of the UC Davis Child Life and Creative Arts Therapy Department, expressed her gratitude for community support, stating, “Every donation helps bring joy and comfort to children and families spending their holidays in the hospital. Your support truly makes the season brighter for our patients.”
The Virtual Holiday Toy Drive emphasizes the importance of community involvement in bringing festive cheer to those facing challenges during the holiday season. By participating, donors can make a significant impact on the lives of these young patients and their families.
To contribute to this noble cause and spread joy to hospitalized children, visit the Virtual Holiday Toy Drive website before the deadline on December 24. Each contribution, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in making the holidays a little brighter for those in need.
