Bruce Stark, Beloved Community Leader, Passes Away at 80

BREAKING: Bruce J. Stark, a cherished member of the Jacksonville community, has passed away at the age of 80. Stark, who was born on May 15, 1945, in Schenectady, NY, died on October 13, 2025, in Jacksonville, leaving behind a legacy of service and compassion.

Stark was not only known for his military service in the U.S. Naval Reserve during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1970, but also for his deep commitment to community involvement. He served as a minyan captain at the Jacksonville Jewish Center and was an active member of organizations like Magen David Adom and the Jacksonville Humane Society.

For years, Bruce and his wife, Katherine Senrick Stark, dedicated their lives to fostering and adopting dogs through the Golden Receiver Rescue Society, demonstrating their love for animals and commitment to helping those in need.

His family was always his primary focus. Bruce is survived by his wife, Katherine; son Aaron Stark; daughter Rachel Stark Corum (married to Brady); and his beloved grandchildren, Elliot David Corum and Arya Corum. He also leaves behind his sisters, Nancy Schoenburg of Boca Raton, FL, and Barbara Heisler of Tucson, AZ.

Bruce’s passion for classic cars and his willingness to lend a helping hand to friends and family made him a beloved figure in Jacksonville. His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him.
