Community Mourns the Passing of Douglas Edward Greer, 38

Douglas Edward Greer, a resident of Elizabethton, passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 38. Born on February 2, 1987, in Johnson City, Greer’s life was deeply rooted in his community and family. A graduate of Gateway Christian Home School, he was known for his love of outdoor activities, including fishing and swimming, as well as his enjoyment of shooting pool.

In his professional life, Greer was employed at Central Heat and Air, contributing to the local economy while supporting his family. His faith was significant to him, as he was a dedicated member of Bramar Baptist Church.

Greer is survived by his three children: daughters Emma and Gracie, along with his son Jackson Greer. He leaves behind his parents, Daryl and Lois Lowe Greer, and one sister, Anna Lunsford, who is married to T.J. Lunsford. The family includes a niece, McKinzie Lunsford, a nephew, Tyler Lunsford, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Pauline Greer, who passed away on October 30, 2022, along with his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Funeral Arrangements and Community Support

Funeral services for Douglas Greer will take place at 2 p.m. on November 26, 2025, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Dean Presnell officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music during the service will be provided by Mike Presnell.
