A family from Macomb Township, Michigan, recently experienced the magic of New York City during the annual tree lighting ceremony hosted by FOX News. Christopher and Kelly Biernat, who had originally planned a cruise to the Cayman Islands, opted to change their plans after winning an all-expenses-paid trip to this festive event.
The Biernats, along with their two daughters, attended the tree lighting on December 3, 2023. Following the ceremony, they shared their thoughts with Griff Jenkins, host of FOX and Friends Weekend. “We had an amazing time. It’s been a joy to kick off the holiday celebration here in New York City, and we’ve loved the hospitality from everybody,” Christopher Biernat remarked.
Kelly expressed her delight in witnessing the children’s enthusiasm during the event. “The kids were singing along to the beautiful music and they were so excited to line up and light up the tree. Kicking off the holiday season and having just the time with our daughters here was amazing,” she said.
Although their daughters were present for the festivities, they were also balancing their academic commitments, as one is in medical school and the other in nursing school. This blend of education and celebration made the trip even more special for the family.
The annual tree lighting event has become a cherished tradition in New York City, attracting thousands of visitors each year. The Biernats’ experience highlights the importance of family and community during the holiday season, showcasing how unexpected opportunities can lead to memorable moments.
As celebrations continue across the country, the Biernats remind us of the joy and excitement that the holiday season can bring, especially when shared with loved ones.
