Ariana Grande Hosts ‘SNL’ with Cher Returning After 40 Years

Ariana Grande will host an upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live (SNL) on December 20, 2023. She will be joined by Cher, who makes her return to the show as the musical guest for the first time in nearly 40 years. This marks Grande’s third appearance as host on SNL, while Cher last performed on the iconic stage in 1987.

In a recent announcement, NBC detailed the full December lineup for the long-running sketch comedy show. Josh O’Connor, known for his role in “The Crown,” will make his debut as host on December 13, with Lily Allen set to perform as the musical guest. Allen, who recently released her fifth album, “West End Girl,” will return to the SNL stage for her second appearance.

The lineup also features Melissa McCarthy, a veteran host of SNL, who will appear on December 6 for her sixth time. This episode will see Dijon make his debut as the musical guest. The artist has garnered acclaim with two Grammy nominations for his album “Baby.”

Grande has been actively promoting her role in the upcoming film adaptation of the musical “Wicked: For Good.” Meanwhile, O’Connor is currently starring in the upcoming mystery film “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.”
