Born on August 11, 1950, in Lebanon, Indiana, Bray committed himself to a life of service and faith from a young age. He was a passionate writer of poetry and Christian music, gaining prominence during the Jesus Revolution of the early 1970s as a member of the Wildwoods Gospel Group. Bray, established their final music ministry, Bearing Armor.

Commitment to Community and Faith

Throughout his life, Bray dedicated himself to spreading the message of Jesus. He and Sallie actively participated in various outreach programs, visiting prisons, festivals, and churches to share their faith. Their commitment extended to social media, where Bray posted a Bible verse every morning on his Facebook page, inspiring many with his words of encouragement.

In October 2019, the couple moved to Kilgore, Texas, where they continued their ministry and built connections within the local community. Roland was known for his gentle and selfless nature, always willing to help those in need. He cherished his family, particularly his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed hobbies such as riding motorcycles and attending car and truck shows.

Bray is survived by his wife, Sallie, and his children from previous marriages, Sandi and Josh (Tiffany), as well as his two grandchildren, Layla and Clay. He is also remembered fondly by his sister, Cathy (Scott) Muir, his aunt Sue, and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Roy, and Carl, along with his parents, Charles Bray and Cathern (Bray) Viles.
