Disney Unveils Cast for Live-Action “Tangled” Film

Disney has officially announced the cast for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the beloved animated film, “Tangled.” The reimagined movie will feature Teagan Croft as Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider. This announcement was made on Wednesday, marking a significant step forward for a project that many fans have eagerly anticipated.

Director Michael Gracey, known for his work on “The Greatest Showman,” will helm the film, with a screenplay penned by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. The casting of Croft, an Australian actor recognized for her role as Rachel Roth in the DC series “Titans,” and Manheim, who gained fame through Disney’s “Zombies” franchise, brings fresh talent to these iconic characters.

While the announcement has generated excitement, details about the film remain sparse. Notably, the role of Mother Gothel has yet to be cast, and there is currently no confirmed release date for the film.

The original animated “Tangled,” released in 2010, featured the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. It was a commercial success, grossing over $590 million worldwide. The film’s enduring popularity has paved the way for a series of live-action adaptations of Disney princess stories, including recent films such as “The Little Mermaid,” “Snow White,” “Aladdin,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Cinderella.”

Additionally, a live-action adaptation of “Moana” is scheduled for release this summer, further expanding Disney’s roster of reimagined classics. As fans await more information about the “Tangled” project, the excitement surrounding its cast suggests that Disney continues to captivate audiences with its storytelling legacy.
