Jessie J Calls Ex Channing Tatum a ‘Beast’ in New Song

Singer Jessie J has seemingly taken a dig at her ex-boyfriend Channing Tatum in her newly released song, “Threw It Away.” The track, which is part of her upcoming album, Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time, hints at themes of heartbreak and karma. In a snippet shared with fans, Jessie sings, “I put my heart out on the table / That’s when it got uncomfortable / But oh that karma is gonna come one day / ’Cause I gave you my love and you threw it away.”

The lyrics escalate as Jessie declares, “Don’t you dare rewrite the story. I’m the beauty, you’re the beast,” suggesting her feelings about their past relationship. This song was co-written with Ryan Tedder in 2020, a time when Jessie was still romantically involved with Tatum. The couple’s relationship spanned from 2018 to 2020, with moments of both closeness and separation.

Jessie and Tatum first became public in 2018, shortly after his split from actress Jenna Dewan. They confirmed their romance by supporting one another at various events throughout that year. Although they parted ways in late 2019, they briefly reconciled in January 2020 before ultimately ending their relationship for good just a few months later, confirmed by Us Weekly.

In October 2020, Jessie addressed their breakup on social media, sharing her thoughts on single life amid the pandemic. “Single life in the pandemic is 🔮,” she wrote, alongside a video of herself dancing. She expressed the need for healthy love, stating that it involves both partners addressing their own issues rather than relying on one another to solve them.

Since their separation, Tatum has moved on to date actress Zoë Kravitz, with whom he became engaged in 2023, though the engagement ended in early 2024. Currently, he is reportedly in a relationship with model Inka Wiliams. Jessie, meanwhile, has been with basketball player Chanan Colman since 2021, and the couple welcomed their son, Sky, in 2023 after Jessie experienced a miscarriage two years prior.

In addition to her personal life developments, Jessie has been facing health challenges. Earlier this year, she revealed her battle with breast cancer, which led her to postpone her tour following surgery. In an emotional video shared on Instagram in August 2023, she stated, “As some of you may know, I just had breast cancer surgery eight weeks ago. Unfortunately, I have to have a second surgery, nothing too serious, but it has to be done before the end of the year, and unfortunately, that falls right in the middle of a tour that I had booked.”

Jessie expressed frustration and sadness over the situation but emphasized her commitment to healing. “I need to be better. I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make, so I’m postponing the tour till next year,” she said.

As Jessie J continues to navigate her personal and professional life, fans are left eagerly awaiting more music from the artist, particularly as she unveils her new album. The release of “Threw It Away” marks a notable moment in her career, reflecting both her artistic evolution and personal experiences.
