Sydney Sweeney, one of Hollywood’s most prominent rising stars, recently shared an intriguing story from her childhood that involved an unexpected friendship with a ghost. During an interview with W Magazine, Sweeney recounted her experience of having an imaginary friend who was, in fact, a supernatural entity.
Sweeney revealed that this ghostly companion first appeared during her time at preschool. “I think I’ve seen a ghost. When I was little, I used to have an imaginary friend. He would be on the playground at preschool,” she stated. She went on to explain how she would tell her mother about him, only to discover that he was someone who had passed away before she was born. “It creeped my mom out,” she added, highlighting the unusual nature of her childhood experiences.
As her career in the entertainment industry flourishes, Sweeney has noted a shift in her ability to dream. Once a vivid dreamer, she expressed her struggles in remembering dreams in recent years. “I don’t even know if I’m dreaming anymore. I used to be able to control my dreams; I could lie there and orchestrate all the dreams that I wanted to have that night. In the last year or two, I haven’t really been able to dream,” she explained.
Despite her fears, Sweeney considers herself to be a fearless individual. “Usually, if something scares me, then I’m going to do it,” she remarked, providing an example from her life. She shared her fear of heights and how she confronted it by going skydiving. “I have a fear of heights, but I jumped out of a plane and went skydiving. I’ll scream the whole way, but then I’ll want to do it again,” she said, reflecting her adventurous spirit.
Sweeney’s latest project, titled The Housemaid, showcases her talent in a psychological thriller context. In the film, she plays a live-in housekeeper who takes a job with a wealthy couple that harbors dark secrets. This role marks a significant departure from her earlier performances, challenging her to navigate a storyline filled with suspense and tension.
As she continues to evolve as an actress, Sweeney’s reflections on childhood experiences and personal fears add a deeper layer to her public persona. Her openness about these matters resonates with fans, showcasing her relatable nature amidst the glitz and glamour of Hollywood.
