‘Tell Me Lies’ Cast Adjusts to Shocking Romance Reveal

Fans of the Hulu series Tell Me Lies were taken by surprise during the January 20 episode, as a flash forward revealed a shocking romantic connection between Bree and Wrigley. The unexpected twist not only excited the audience but also prompted the cast to reconsider their characters’ dynamics.

During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Branden Cook, who portrays Evan, discussed the complexities of the new revelation. “It was an adjustment — obviously — just in terms of where does that leave everything and how do we work through this triangle now,” he stated. Cook highlighted the challenge of navigating the evolving relationships, noting, “How does that affect everybody’s relationship?” He described the process as “fun,” emphasizing how the drama adds depth to the storytelling. Cook humorously remarked, “Nobody is rooting for Evan ever,” acknowledging the shift in audience support toward Bree and Wrigley.

Spencer House, who plays Wrigley, expressed his enthusiasm about exploring his character’s backstory. “This was the most fun I’ve had in any season,” he shared with Us Weekly. House appreciated the opportunity for Wrigley to experience character growth, contrasting it with earlier seasons where his character faced challenges. “It was nice to do an upwards trajectory. That was meaningful and nice,” he said.

Cat Missal, portraying Bree, echoed the sentiments of her co-stars, praising the show’s ability to innovate. “Honestly, I think [Bree and Wrigley’s] relationship offers the dynamic of the show a bit of relief,” Missal remarked. She suggested that the writers made a thoughtful decision in developing this connection, providing a fresh perspective for viewers. “It’s a really beautiful thing,” she added.

Season 3 of Tell Me Lies premiered earlier this month and has already set streaming records for Hulu. As the season unfolds, Missal hinted at Bree’s journey for security in her relationships, suggesting that Wrigley presents a new avenue of emotional support. “For Bree, she’s just searching for security and searching for a truth that she’s not getting with most of these relationships in her life,” she noted, indicating that Wrigley opens that door for her.

While the cast is excited about the direction of the series, there is still uncertainty regarding its future. Creator Meaghan Oppenheimer addressed this in an interview with Us Weekly, stating, “In terms of future seasons, it’s impossible to really know at this point.” She mentioned that she envisioned the current season as a satisfying conclusion, though she did not completely rule out the possibility of a return. “But you never know what’s going to happen in the future,” she said, suggesting that there is always potential for new storylines.

New episodes of Tell Me Lies air every Tuesday on Hulu, engaging viewers with its dramatic twists and character developments. As the season progresses, it remains to be seen how Bree and Wrigley’s relationship will evolve and what impact it will have on the show’s other characters.
