The Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo invites attendees to enjoy live music at The Corkyard, a vibrant venue located outside of Dickies Arena on the Simons Bank Plaza. Guests can indulge in wine and music as they gather to listen to the talented local artist, Terry Rasor, who will perform twice on February 7, 2024, at 6:15 p.m. and 9:45 p.m.
Terry Rasor is a celebrated native of Fort Worth, Texas, with a rich musical heritage that began at a young age. He started playing the guitar and mandolin when he was just nine years old and began performing publicly by the age of fourteen as part of the award-winning bluegrass group, The Sunset Harmony Boys.
In the early 1970s, Rasor was instrumental in shaping the progressive country sound as a founding member of the acoustic group Trinity. This group blended traditional roots with the innovative West Coast music influences of that era, establishing a unique sonic identity. As a solo artist and bandleader, he formed the group Over The Edge in the late 1980s and gained additional recognition with a live album recorded at Fort Worth’s iconic Caravan of Dreams.
Over the years, Rasor has earned acclaim not only for his songwriting and musicianship but also for his advocacy of independent singer-songwriters. He has cultivated a platform for emerging artists through his annual three-day music festival, Raz On The Braz, where he showcases their talents.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Rasor has dedicated fifteen years to hosting the weekly program Raz n Freindz: Swappin’ Songs, further solidifying his influence in the Fort Worth music scene.
Attendees at The Corkyard can expect an engaging evening filled with the sounds of Rasor’s music, coupled with the festive atmosphere of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. The venue opens its doors at 5:30 p.m., providing an opportunity for guests to unwind and enjoy the blend of wine and melodies before the performance begins.
