Players of Pokémon Pokopia can now engage with friends through the new GameShare feature available on the Nintendo Switch 2. This option, however, is introduced later in the game and is limited in its functionality. Users should note that GameShare does not allow full cooperative gameplay throughout the entire title.
To access GameShare, players must progress to a specific area known as Palette Town. This location becomes accessible after navigating through the Withered Wasteland, a stage players will encounter naturally during their adventures. The GameShare feature is restricted to Palette Town, which serves as a hub for connecting with friends.
Reaching Palette Town requires players to follow a specific sequence. After Squitle instructs you to break through a wall adjacent to the Pokémon Center in the Withered Wastelands, proceed to the beach where a broken road lies. Players need to construct blocks to bridge the gap and continue down this road. After a brief interaction that suggests turning back due to insufficient knowledge, ignore it and press onward to Palette Town.
Once in Palette Town, players should interact with the console located within the Pokémon Center. Here, they will encounter an Eevee, which will lead them to the Link Play option. From this menu, select “Invite others to visit,” followed by “GameShare.” It is essential to remember that this option is exclusive to Palette Town and will not be available at other Pokémon Centers.
After initiating the GameShare process, players can choose to connect with a nearby player or opt for GameChat. For those using a second Nintendo Switch, whether it is a Switch 1 or Switch 2, access the Home screen and select the GameShare icon located in the bottom row. This method is crucial, as Pokémon Pokopia is not available for purchase on the original Nintendo Switch. Once the option to “Join GameShare” is selected, players can begin their shared gaming experience.
