Laurette Marie Klar, a beloved member of the Texas community, passed away in her home on October 26, 2025, after an 18-month battle with ovarian cancer. Known for her dedication to family, work, and agriculture, she was 62 years old at the time of her death.
Born on December 11, 1962, to Harry and Theresa Moczygemba Klar, Laurette was the second of five daughters. Raised on her parents’ ranch east of Boerne, Texas, she developed a strong work ethic early on, showing livestock and working closely with her family. Laurette attended local schools, graduating from Boerne High School in 1981, before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State University in 1985.
After completing her education, she returned to the Boerne area, where she quickly established a reputation for loyalty and hard work. For the past 21 years, Laurette dedicated herself to Granstaff, Gaedke & Edgmon, P.C., a law firm in San Antonio, earning respect from colleagues and clients alike. Her commitment extended beyond professional duties; she frequently returned to her family ranch in Junction, Texas, where she became her father’s companion, sharing in the responsibilities of ranch life.
Laurette’s passion for agriculture was evident in her love for ranching, gardening, and recycling. She nurtured meaningful relationships throughout the Texas Hill Country, creating a strong sense of community. Family was central to her life, and she cherished the time spent with her sisters, nieces, and nephews, often teaching many of them to drive.
Laurette is survived by her sisters: Donna (David) Inman, Harriette (Tony) Frels, Elaine (Hank) Rogers, and Beatrice (Mike) Casey. Each of them will miss their fifth sister deeply, alongside countless friends who held a special place for her in their hearts.
The family will receive condolences on November 2, 2025, at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne from 4-6 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6 p.m.. A Funeral Mass will be held the next day on November 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Honey Creek, Spring Branch, Texas.
