Melanie Mary Witte, aged 77, of Stillwater, MN, passed away on October 28, 2025, following a brief battle with cancer. Born on December 27, 1947, to Elmer and Lorraine Rice in Bayport, MN, she became a cherished member of her community throughout her life.
A proud graduate of Stillwater High School in 1965, Melanie dedicated 44 years of her career to 3M, where she made lasting contributions. Her work ethic and commitment earned her the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Melanie is predeceased by her husband, Gene Witte, as well as her parents and siblings Sharon and George. She also mourns the loss of her nephews Mark and John, and niece Michelle. She leaves behind her daughter, Shelley Leigeb, along with 12 nieces, 6 nephews, and 35 great-nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
Celebration of Life Planned for November
A celebration of life will take place on November 9, 2025, from 11:00 to 15:00 at the Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear Lake. The event will feature lunch at 14:00, providing an opportunity for family and friends to gather and share memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Women’s Cancer Research Foundation or the Stillwater School District’s Partnership Plan. These contributions will honor Melanie’s legacy and support causes that were important to her.
Melanie Mary Witte’s passing marks the end of a remarkable life dedicated to family, community, and her work. Her spirit will undoubtedly live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
