Sandra J. Miner, a cherished resident of Boscawen, New Hampshire, passed away on December 16, 2025, after a brave fight against breast cancer. She was 76 years old and is remembered for her deep commitment to her family and community.
Sandy, born on April 5, 1949, in Concord, NH, was the daughter of Elwyn B. Chamberlin and Annie F. Chamberlin (née French). She grew up in Penacook and attended local schools, including the Charles Street School, Summer Street School, and Penacook High School. After graduating, she began a diverse career that included roles at the New Hampshire Aeronautics Commission, J.M. Field’s Snack Bar, and Alans of Boscawen Restaurant, where she worked for 22 years. Most recently, she served as a snack bar cook at the Merrimack Valley School District.
Community Involvement and Personal Passions
Beyond her professional life, Sandy was actively involved in her community. She held the position of President for several years in both the Torrent Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the Boscawen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Her commitment to service extended to her family and friends, who fondly recall her warmth and generosity.
Sandy had a passion for reading, knitting, and solving puzzles, often engaging in various crafts. Her creativity and resourcefulness were evident in everything she did, from her hobbies to her professional endeavors.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leonard A. Miner Sr., and their two children: son Leonard Miner Jr. and his wife Lea, along with daughter Rebecca Reed and her husband Ed. Sandy also leaves behind two grandchildren, Allyssa Miner of Cambridge, MA, and Jacob Miner of Haverhill, MA, as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Memorial Services and Contributions
Sandy was predeceased by her mother, Annie Chamberlin, her daughter Patience Hibbard, and her brother Stanley Chamberlin of Loudon. Family and friends are invited to gather for a memorial service on December 20th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, located at 172 King Street, Boscawen. A graveside service is scheduled for the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery on Corn Hill Road in Boscawen.
