Shelley K. Sullivan: Cherished Nurse and Beloved Family Member Passes Away

Shelley K. Sullivan, also known as Shelley Horne, passed away on the morning of November 29, 2025, following a brief and aggressive battle with cancer. Her unexpected passing has left her family and friends in shock, as they remember her strength and dedication in her final days. Many find comfort in the belief that she has reunited with her faith, described as being with God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Born in South Bend, Washington, Shelley was the eldest child of Jack C. Horne and Brenda Williamson. At just two months old, her family relocated to Pullman, a town that would hold a special place in her heart. There, she fostered lasting friendships, graduating from Pullman High School and maintaining connections through social gatherings and reunions over the years.

In the early 1990s, Shelley met George Lin, and the couple wed in 1996. After their marriage ended in divorce, Shelley sought a new direction in her life. She pursued a degree in nursing while working at a Starbucks in Spokane, where she met her future husband, Shaun Sullivan. The couple married on March 17, 2007, and shared a deep bond that sustained her through her illness.

Shelley graduated with a degree in nursing from Washington State University in May 2009. Her caring nature was evident in her personal and professional life, as she touched the hearts of everyone she encountered. Her greatest joy came from her family, particularly her beloved nephews and nieces, along with her cherished dogs, whom she adored and spoiled.

Shelley’s legacy extends beyond her family. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and sisters, Stephanie Horne and Jessica Seifert Greco, as well as her beloved dogs, Bailey, Ella, and Gidget. She is survived by her husband, Shaun, and a close-knit family that includes her mother, Brenda (Dan); father, Jack (Marcy); siblings, Tricia James (Greg), Jill Seifert, David Horne (Kelsey), and Ryan Horne. Her many cherished nephews and nieces include Jordie (daughter Ava), Aron and Hannah James, Phoebe Horne, and Steven Greco (daughters Nina and Athena), along with Riley Sullivan, and her beloved dogs, Rizzi, Bella, and Sophia.

A service honoring Shelley will take place at 1 p.m. on January 17, 2026, at Pullman Presbyterian Church, located at 1630 NE Stadium Way, Pullman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to one of Shelley’s favorite charities in her name. They express gratitude to everyone who has extended condolences, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
