Beloved Family Matriarch Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda Passes Away

Lydia “Lilly” Zepeda, a cherished matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was a source of warmth, humor, and generosity, traits that defined her relationships throughout her life. Lilly was born to Antonio and Petra Zepeda, both of whom have since passed, and she grew up in a large, close-knit family that profoundly influenced her character.

Lilly was previously married to the late Robert Jack Dittel. She leaves behind a legacy through their children: Robert Anthony Dittel (Kelley) and Kimberly Marie Dittel (Brian Nystrom). She is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Christine Ann Dittel. Lilly was proud of her family, which included eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Family Legacy and Community Impact

In addition to her immediate family, Lilly is survived by her dear brother Edward Zepeda (Evelyn) and her loving sisters Minnie and Rebecca. She was also preceded in death by multiple siblings, including James, Jim, Elizabeth, Patricia, Anna, Mary, Matilda, Jesse, Emma, Tony, Petra, Dora, and Vera. Lilly’s life touched many through her numerous cousins and friends, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Lilly’s impact extended beyond her family. She was known for her infectious spirit and the love she shared, leaving a lasting imprint on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will undoubtedly resonate within her community and among those who loved her.

Funeral Arrangements

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 11:00 AM on December 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in West St. Paul. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Following the mass, a luncheon will provide an opportunity for family and friends to gather and celebrate Lilly’s life.

The interment is scheduled for Noon on December 26, 2025, at Riverview Cemetery, also located in West St. Paul.

Lilly Zepeda will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her spirit, humor, and the love she so generously shared will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
