Jerry Watson is currently engaged in multiple projects at the Boerne Community Theatre in Texas. As the immediate past president, he has taken on various responsibilities crucial for the theatre’s operations. These tasks include picking up concession items from Bear Moon Bakery, managing waste disposal, and updating the theatre’s marquee, ensuring the community stays informed about upcoming events.
Watson is directing two productions this season. The first is the dark comedy, “Loot,” written by Joe Orton, which is set to open on November 7, 2023. This production, which explores the misadventures of two thieves who hide stolen money in a casket, will run for three weekends. The show is co-produced by Holt & Holt Funeral Home. This production marks the final opportunity for season ticket holders to attend a show this year.
Before “Loot” opens, Watson has also directed a recent showcase for the ActIII@ BCT readers’ theatre class. This event is scheduled for November 1, 2023, and will be free to the public. Participants include local talents such as Bob Carnes, Sonja Jimenez, Denise Fortenberry, Paul Peterson, Kimberly Stoner, Carol Sweatmon, Jennifer Goetz, Kathy Binetti, and Frank Binetti. The theatre doors will open at 18:30, with the performance beginning at 19:00. Attendees can enjoy wine and snacks during the showcase.
