The annual fundraising events in Los Gatos are set to support local charities and community initiatives. On February 7, 2024, the Los Gatos Rotary will host its much-anticipated CrabFest and Auction at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Saratoga. This event promises an evening of “seafood for a cause,” featuring an all-you-can-eat menu that includes fresh crab, soup, pasta, salad, and dessert. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Los Gatos Rotary Charities Foundation, which supports various local nonprofits, including the San Jose Firefighters Foundation’s Burn Camp. This camp offers young burn survivors a vital space to heal and regain a sense of belonging. The fundraising goal for this year is $15,000, enough to send 26 children to the camp.
The Los Gatos Lions Club is also making an impact with its own culinary event. On January 31, 2024, the club will serve its famous Cioppino Dinner at St. Mary’s Church, Howley Hall, from 18:00 to 22:00. Attendees can expect a four-course feast, along with raffles and live auctions, with tickets priced at $100 available on Eventbrite.
Another significant event is the Children’s Fund Gala, taking place on February 26, 2024. Longtime Lions Club member and community advocate Mike Wasserman will serve as the emcee for this gala, which aims to raise funds for pediatric trauma prevention in local hospitals.
In addition to these fundraising dinners, the community is invited to participate in a variety of cultural and social activities. On February 2, 2024, the Los Gatos Cinelux Theatre will screen “Song Sung Blue” as part of its Monday Morning Movie series, organized by Los Gatos Thrives. This series aims to foster social connections and a sense of belonging among attendees, according to organizer Tom Picraux.
The New Museum Los Gatos is offering free admission on the first Sunday of each month, with the next opportunity on February 4, 2024. Guided art tours at 11:30 and history tours at 14:00 will enhance the experience, but registration is required.
Members of the Los Gatos Chamber of Commerce are invited to an exclusive reception with Mayor Rob Moore on February 25, 2024, from 17:30 to 18:45. This gathering at the Chamber office provides an opportunity for community leaders to engage with the mayor and discuss his vision for Los Gatos.
