Milwaukee Man Distributes Cash with Unique Community Initiative

In a heartwarming initiative aimed at supporting his local community, Ben Adebiyi is giving away cash in Milwaukee every week. Since launching his project, called Find The Cash MKE, in March 2025, Adebiyi has distributed nearly $3,000 by hiding cash in various locations and inviting his followers to find it.

Adebiyi, who moved to Milwaukee from Nigeria eight years ago, began this initiative as a response to the financial struggles he observed in his community. “I saw people struggling, and it’s not easy to, you know, see some cash like that,” he explained. His goal is to show love and give back to the community that has welcomed him.

Community Impact through Direct Giving

Each week, Adebiyi conceals amounts ranging from $25 to $100 in and around Milwaukee. He records a video and shares it on social media, prompting his followers to search for the hidden cash. Rather than going through traditional charitable avenues, Adebiyi prefers to connect directly with individuals in need.

“What I’m doing is easy cash right there,” he noted. “If I post it, if you have to guess it, you get the money real quick without signing any documents.” Despite the financial pressures of raising a young daughter, he and his wife believe in sharing their resources with others. “My wife is in support of everything I’m doing because we come from the same ground,” Adebiyi shared.

As the weather turns colder, Adebiyi has adapted his approach to continue helping those in need. Instead of hiding cash outdoors, he now posts images or videos of cash amounts on social media and invites followers to guess the total. Those who come closest receive cash prizes of $25 or $50. In the event of a tie, all tied participants receive a donation via Cash App.

Adapting to Community Needs

Adebiyi’s shift in strategy was spurred by an experience he had while filming outdoors. He noticed a pregnant woman searching for hidden cash with her child. “I saw the lady. She’s pregnant. She had a baby, too. Then I said, ‘no I’m not going to do this on the street anymore since it’s cold,'” he recalled.

Despite giving away money without a guaranteed return, Adebiyi emphasizes that he does not possess vast financial resources. He works a day job and runs a vending machine business, along with selling cars in Africa. His motivation lies in the joy that his initiative brings to others, and he plans to continue this endeavor as long as it remains beneficial to the community.

“Man, I’m still doing this as long as people in my community are happy with what I’m doing. I’m still doing it for a long time,” Adebiyi affirmed. His commitment to supporting those around him embodies a spirit of generosity that resonates deeply in Milwaukee.
