Margaret Agnes “Peg” Hunt, aged 92, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Lilydale, Minnesota, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on January 2, 1934, in Warren, Minnesota, Peg is remembered for her deep commitment to her family and her nursing career.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Warren W. Hunt, along with her sister, Helen Graf, and several brothers, including William, James, Joseph (Edward), Dennis, Kenneth, and Keith Robertson. Peg leaves behind a legacy of love through her children, Anne Hunt, Melany Hunt (Bruce Drolen), David Hunt, and Margaret “Marnie” Hunt (Doug Huisken). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Claire and Madelyn Drolen, Matthew and Margaret “Maggie” Huisken, and Benjamin “Ben” and Eva Hunt, along with a large extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Life Dedicated to Service and Family
Raised in Argyle, Minnesota, Peg graduated from Argyle High School in 1951. Her passion for service led her to the College of Saint Catherine, where she earned her nursing degree in 1954. She married Warren Hunt in 1959 in Argyle, prioritizing her role as a mother while maintaining her dedication to nursing.
Throughout her career, Peg worked night shifts at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Saint Paul, demonstrating her commitment to patient care. After retiring, she pursued leisure activities such as golf, bridge, and cooking, and enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. Peg took great joy in her role as a grandmother, often babysitting and caring for her sick grandchildren, which brought her immense happiness.
In recent years, Peg faced challenges due to Alzheimer’s Disease. She found community and support at the Villas of Lilydale and Lilydale Senior Living, where both staff and residents helped provide comfort during her illness.
Honoring Her Memory
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for January 10, 2026, at the Church of the Assumption located at 51 W. Seventh St., Saint Paul. The service will begin at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM.
