San Marin High School quarterback Daniel Rolovich has been honored as the Adobe Player of the Year for the 2025 season in the Redwood Empire Conference. This recognition marks the first time a player from Marin has received this prestigious award since the league’s formation in 2024.
Rolovich’s impressive performance helped lead the Mustangs to an 8-3 record and a spot in the North Coast Section Open/Division I playoffs for the second consecutive year. Over the season, he completed 65% of his passes, accumulating 1,930 yards and throwing for 18 touchdowns. In addition to his passing success, Rolovich showcased his versatility as a dual-threat quarterback, rushing for 731 yards and adding 10 touchdowns on the ground. His standout moments included scoring a remarkable 10 touchdowns across two consecutive games against Casa Grande and Ukiah.
In the playoffs, San Marin faced the No. 3 seed Cardinal Newman and pushed the game into double overtime, ultimately losing 21-14. Despite the defeat, Rolovich’s leadership and skill throughout the season established him as a pivotal player in the league.
Recognition for Other Players
Several of Rolovich’s teammates also received accolades, with linebacker Daniel Gilmore named Co-Defensive Player of the Year alongside Cardinal Newman’s Kordell Strane. The Mustangs had additional representatives on the all-league teams, including cornerback Ryan Houlahan and linebacker Luke Saysette, both of whom were recognized for their contributions on defense. Offensive lineman Jackson Young also earned honors, making the first team on offense and second team on defense.
Marin Catholic, another local team, had notable performances as well. Co-captains Jarred Geissberger and Vince Tarantino played crucial roles in the Wildcats’ strong season, finishing second in the Adobe league. Geissberger earned a spot on the all-league first team as a running back, while Tarantino was named Lineman of the Year.
Geissberger’s highlight of the season came during a thrilling game against San Marin, where he returned a kickoff just before halftime. Despite suffering an ankle injury later in the season, he made a game-winning two-point conversion in a nail-biting victory against Windsor, securing a 28-27 win.
