Tehama County Cattlemen and CattleWomen Set for Annual Winter Dinner

The Tehama County Cattlemen and CattleWomen are preparing for their 73rd annual winter dinner and 23rd scholarship fundraiser, scheduled for January 10, 2025. This year’s event will take place at the Red Bluff Elks Lodge, located at 355 Gilmore Road, marking a new venue for this popular community gathering.

Doors will open at 17:30, with dinner served at 18:30. The change in venue was prompted by the concurrent District 1 California High School Rodeo at the Tehama District Fairgrounds, which poses parking challenges, especially with the potential for wet weather. The annual dinner aims to raise funds for agriculture-related scholarships, supported by both the Cattlemen and the CattleWomen.

Honoring Achievements and Raising Funds

The event will honor the Cattleman of the Year, alongside the recognition of the CattleWomen’s Cowbell of the Year. Additionally, recipients of the group’s 2025 scholarships will be celebrated during the evening. The menu will feature prime rib, prepared by Mike Collins and his team, complemented by baked potatoes, traditional green beans, and salad.

A live and silent auction will provide attendees with the opportunity to bid on a variety of items, generously donated by local sponsors. Tickets for the dinner are priced at $50 if purchased in advance and $55 at the door. They can be obtained from several locations, including Hawes Ranch and Farm Supply, Red Bluff Round-up Mercantile, Plumas Bank in Red Bluff, Shasta Farm and Equipment in Cottonwood, and McCoy’s Hardware in Corning.

This annual dinner not only serves as a key fundraising event but also fosters community spirit and recognizes the contributions of individuals within the agricultural sector. Attendees can look forward to an enjoyable evening filled with camaraderie, good food, and the chance to support future agricultural leaders.
