Vote for Your Favorite Hidden Gem Eateries in Ventura County

Residents of Ventura County have the opportunity to celebrate and support their favorite local dining establishments by voting for the best hidden gem eateries in the area. The voting process is open until December 9, 2023, at noon PT. This initiative aims to showcase locally-owned restaurants that may not always receive the recognition they deserve.

Among the contenders for this title are several popular choices. Daniel’s Gourmet Foods in Fillmore offers a unique culinary experience, while Freda’s Restaurant in Moorpark is known for its inviting atmosphere and delicious offerings. MythPoint Bistro, located in Westlake Village, presents Mediterranean cuisine that has garnered a loyal following.

In Ojai, food enthusiasts can enjoy the authentic flavors at Ojai Tortilla House, a celebrated Mexican restaurant. Meanwhile, Matna 1631 and Gotetsu in Ventura provide distinctive Korean and Japanese dishes, respectively. Camarillo’s Lola Betty’s Kitchen showcases Filipino cuisine, while It’s In The Sauce serves up Texas-style BBQ in Oxnard.

Ventura County also boasts Moqueca, a Brazilian restaurant with a second location in Thousand Oaks, and El Jarocho, a seafood Mexican restaurant in Ventura. For breakfast lovers, The Best Breakfast Cafe in Oxnard is included in the list of nominees.

Residents are encouraged to participate in this community campaign. If you have a favorite locally-owned restaurant that is not listed, you can share your suggestions by emailing [email protected] with the subject line “VC Hidden Gem.”
