The City of Batavia, New York, is set to enhance its public safety infrastructure with the opening of a new police station located at 31 Bank Street. All police operations will officially transition to the new facility starting on Monday, December 8.
The new station aims to provide improved services and accessibility for the community. The building’s lobby will welcome visitors on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., ensuring that residents have the opportunity to engage with police services during regular business hours.
In conjunction with the opening, the city has announced that Alva Place will be closed from Bank Street to the Batavia City Center parking lot until construction is fully completed. Residents are encouraged to utilize the parking facilities available at the Batavia City Center during this period.
Despite the move to the new location, the police department’s contact details will remain unchanged. Residents can continue to reach the non-emergency line at (585) 345-6350 for any inquiries or assistance.
Looking ahead, the Batavia Police Department plans to hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house at a later date to officially mark the occasion and allow the community to explore the new facility.
