Eleanor Ann Patton, a cherished member of her family and community, passed away just six months before her 90th birthday. Born in Glouster, Massachusetts, she later moved to Columbus, Georgia, where she grew up among her nine siblings. In the late 1950s, she relocated to California, eventually establishing her home in Redondo Beach.
Eleanor began her professional journey at Northrop Aircraft as an Executive Assistant. It was at a Northrop party in Malibu where she met her future husband, Donald Patton. The couple married in 1962 and welcomed their only son, Chris Patton, a year later. After resigning from her job in 1963 to focus on her family, Eleanor forged lasting friendships and built a life filled with joy.
Her passions included tennis, skiing, skating, golf, singing, and shopping. Eleanor was an avid traveler, exploring destinations around the globe. Notably, she embarked on a memorable road trip to Alaska in a VW van with her family. Her zest for life was evident in every experience she embraced.
Eleanor is survived by her son Chris and daughter-in-law Catherine, along with two grandchildren, Brandy and Harley. She also leaves behind her sister Julie and brothers Tom and Jerry, along with numerous nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.

Eleanor’s burial services will take place at Green Hills in Palos Verdes, where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Donald, who passed away in 2019. A breast cancer survivor, Eleanor’s legacy includes her commitment to raising awareness for the disease. In honor of her memory, donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, an organization dedicated to ending breast cancer forever.
Her family and friends will carry forward her spirit and the many memories of a life well-lived. As they gather to celebrate her remarkable journey, they remember Eleanor not just for her accomplishments, but for the love and light she brought into their lives.
