Kraken Dominate Bruins 7-4, Extend Point Streak to Nine Games

The Seattle Kraken delivered a commanding performance against the Boston Bruins, winning 7-4 on March 12, 2024. This victory marked the Kraken’s ninth consecutive game with points, solidifying their position in the league with a record of 8-0-1 during this stretch.

Kaapo Kakko shone brightly, scoring two goals and providing an assist, while rookie Berkly Catton celebrated his first two goals in the NHL. Jared McCann also contributed with a goal and an assist, and notable efforts from Jordan Eberle and Ben Meyers rounded out the scoring for Seattle. In goal, Joey Daccord made 32 saves, showcasing his skills against a potent Bruins offense.

Boston’s David Pastrnak was a standout for the visitors, netting two goals. Viktor Arvidsson added a goal and an assist, while Mason Lohrei also found the back of the net. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman recorded 20 saves but faced a relentless Kraken attack throughout the night.

The Kraken opened the scoring early, with Eberle finding the net at 8:50 of the first period after a lengthy 5-on-3 advantage. This marked Eberle’s team-leading 15th goal of the season. Seattle regained the lead in the second period when Catton scored at 2:48, only for Pastrnak to tie the game again at 6:28, finishing off a pass from Charlie McAvoy. The back-and-forth nature of the game continued until Meyers scored late in the second period, putting Seattle ahead 3-2. McCann then extended the lead to 4-2 with a power-play goal just before the period ended.

Kakko pushed Seattle’s advantage to 5-2 midway through the third period. Catton, riding the momentum of his earlier goal, scored again with 5:40 remaining, marking a significant milestone in his young career. The Bruins responded with quick goals from Lohrei and Arvidsson, narrowing the gap to two, but Kakko’s empty-net goal with just 12 seconds left sealed the victory for Seattle.

Looking ahead, the Bruins will host the Calgary Flames on March 14, while the Kraken prepare for a matchup against the Minnesota Wild on the same day. This win not only highlights the Kraken’s offensive capabilities but also showcases their potential as serious contenders in the league.
