MANKATO, Minn. — In a remarkable achievement, Lake City graduate Natalie Bremer became the all-time leading scorer for Minnesota State University, Mankato on February 2, 2024. Bremer surpassed the previous record of 2,072 points held by Lisa Walter during a decisive 81-52 victory over Northern State at the Taylor Center.
Bremer reached this milestone at the 6:53 mark of the game when she executed a twisting lay-up, bringing her total points to 2,073. By the end of the contest, she had increased her tally to 2,085 points.
“It’s a really special moment for myself and my family and my teammates,” Bremer stated after the game. “I wouldn’t be here in this spot without the teammates I’ve had in the four years that I’ve been here.”
Currently a senior guard, Bremer is averaging an impressive 22 points per game this season. In the match against Northern State, she scored 22 points, shooting 50% from the field with 10 successful shots out of 20. Her performance also included 2-for-7 from three-point range, contributing to her overall shooting percentage of 52% for the season. Additionally, Bremer averages 4.3 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game.
The Mavericks, under Bremer’s leadership, remain undefeated with a record of 19-0 and currently hold the No. 2 ranking in NCAA Division II women’s basketball. Bremer’s scoring prowess and consistent performance have played a pivotal role in the team’s success this season, drawing attention from fans and analysts alike.
