Spring Hill Dominates at Iron and Pine Sabine Powerlifting Meet

Spring Hill showcased a remarkable performance at the Iron and Pine Sabine Powerlifting Meet held on October 19, 2023, in Liberty City. The team secured six weight division titles, reflecting their exceptional strength and preparation. Competitors participated in three core lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift, with impressive total weights achieved across various categories.

Among the standout performances, Jordyn Bishop from Union Grove excelled in the 97-pound division, accumulating a total of 455 pounds with lifts of 165 pounds in the squat, 85 pounds in the bench press, and 205 pounds in the deadlift. Another notable competitor in this category was Kyleigh Blackstock, also from Union Grove, who totaled 310 pounds with her best lifts being 115 pounds in the squat, 60 pounds in the bench, and 135 pounds in the deadlift.

In the 105-pound division, Ayva Spakes from Spring Hill delivered an outstanding performance with a total of 540 pounds, lifting 195 pounds in the squat, 120 pounds in the bench, and 225 pounds in the deadlift.

Highlights from Other Weight Classes

The competition continued to impress as well in the 114-pound division, where Lilly Hutton of Union Grove achieved a total of 410 pounds. Her lifts included 150 pounds in the squat, 75 pounds in the bench, and 185 pounds in the deadlift.

The 123-pound category featured Morgan Gee from White Oak, who set the bar high with a remarkable total of 725 pounds, lifting 290 pounds in the squat, 155 pounds in the bench, and 280 pounds in the deadlift. Two other competitors in this division, Laityn Chism of Spring Hill and Madeline Sirmans from Union Grove, also made commendable lifts, totaling 550 pounds and 430 pounds, respectively.

The strength continued in the 148-pound class, where Ashlyn Applegate from Spring Hill captured the title with a total of 595 pounds. Her lifts included 230 pounds in the squat, 120 pounds in the bench, and 245 pounds in the deadlift. Other notable performances included Abigail Blalock from White Oak with a total of 575 pounds and Ava Miller from Spring Hill with 505 pounds.

In the heavier weight classes, Emma Austin from Spring Hill dominated the 220-pound division with a total of 755 pounds, showcasing lifts of 300 pounds in the squat, 150 pounds in the bench, and 305 pounds in the deadlift.

The competition culminated in the 242-pound division with Emmalynn Copeland of Spring Hill achieving a total of 870 pounds. The 242-plus category saw Josie Gray from Spring Hill lifting a total of 820 pounds, both competitors underscoring the prowess of their team.
