With a population of 51,844, Dunwoody is celebrated for its commitment to community involvement and transparency. Teri Takai, Chief Programs Officer at the CDG, emphasized the importance of technology in enhancing constituent services. “What stands out this year isn’t just the technology; it’s the focus on the impact on constituent services,” Takai stated. “These cities are applying innovation where it matters most.”
Dunwoody’s achievements include the implementation of an open checkbook and an online records portal, which streamline access to information for residents. Additionally, the city has introduced digital signage and diverse communication channels to keep citizens informed.
In a groundbreaking move for public safety, Dunwoody has established a new Real-Time Crime Center that integrates data from advanced technologies like Flock Safety drones and ForceMetrics AI. This initiative enhances situational awareness and improves emergency response times, showcasing a forward-thinking approach to safety.
“Being recognized nationally affirms that our efforts are making a difference here at home,” said Ginger LePage, Dunwoody’s Technology Director. She praised her team’s dedication to utilizing technological advancements for the benefit of the community.
The CDG report also highlights a significant transformation in Dunwoody’s IT infrastructure, including a comprehensive overhaul of its network and a transition of major systems to the cloud. Eric Linton, Dunwoody City Manager, remarked, “This award highlights how our commitment to innovation directly strengthens services for our residents.”
