URGENT UPDATE: Jason Eisner’s captivating art exhibition, Living Collection: Works on Paper, is on display at St. Ambrose University’s Morrissey Gallery until April 24. This showcase features Eisner’s unique pieces inspired by his vibrant life as an artist and horticulturalist.
The gallery, located at 2101 Gaines Street, Davenport, IA, is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. Eisner’s works capture fleeting moments of beauty, with the artist stating they were “found out of the corner of the eye and drawn while on break, sitting in the grass.”
Eisner, a native of Illinois, has spent the last 30 years in New York City. He holds a BA from Knox College and a Painting Certificate from the New York Studio School in Manhattan. Currently, he serves as a Master Pruner and Horticulturalist at the Green-Wood Cemetery and Arboretum in Brooklyn, a sprawling 500-acre landscape home to over 8,000 trees, shrubs, and plants.
The exhibition invites viewers to ponder, “When does one become an artist? When does an artist make art?” Eisner embodies the spirit of an artist, consistently finding inspiration amid his busy life—whether during his commute or in moments of leisure.
As the exhibition nears its end, art lovers and community members are urged to visit the Morrissey Gallery to experience Eisner’s work firsthand. For more information, call (563) 333-6444 or visit Facebook.com/CatichGallerySAU.
