Jets’ Kris Boyd Recovering After Shooting, Coach Shares Update

UPDATE: New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd is on the road to recovery after being shot early Sunday morning. In a press conference on July 16, 2023, Jets coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Boyd is in good spirits and expected to recover well. “I’m happy of the fact that he’s going to come out of this thing really, really well,” Glenn stated.

The shooting occurred around 2:00 AM outside 156 West 38 Street in New York City, according to the New York Police Department. Boyd suffered an abdominal injury during an argument that escalated, leaving him in stable condition.

Authorities report that no arrests have been made yet. The NYPD has released images of the suspect, described as a medium-complexion male last seen wearing a black cap, black sweatshirt, and multi-colored sneakers. He fled the scene on foot heading eastbound on West 38 Street.
