Lynn Women’s Health Hosts Joyous Baby’s First Holiday Celebration

UPDATE: Lynn Women’s Health hosted its annual Baby’s First Holiday party, bringing joy to families and their infants at the Fox Hill Yacht Club in Saugus on December 5, 2025. This beloved event, which celebrates the first holiday for babies under one year old, saw enthusiastic participation from parents and their little ones.

Authorities confirm that the event aims to foster community spirit among families served by Lynn Women’s Health, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. Practice Manager Sophea Chea expressed her deep commitment to the community, stating, “It’s rewarding to see everyone so happy and appreciative.” Many returning families eagerly ask about the celebration, highlighting its significance in their lives.

The festivities included exciting raffles every 15 minutes, offering prizes like gift cards, a stroller, and creative diaper cakes. Families enjoyed a wide array of food and drinks, while Santa Claus made a special appearance, taking photos with delighted children. Chea emphasized the event’s goal: “The main aim is to gather the community and show the moms they have support.”

The tradition, which began in 1999 at the Lynn Community Health Center, was inspired by Dr. Lewis Laz, who sought to create something special for patients. Chea has been integral to this initiative for over 25 years, planning the event as early as September to ensure everything is perfect.

Mayor Jared C. Nicholson attended the celebration, personally greeting families and commending them on their new arrivals. “We want you to know that the City is here for you,” he stated, underscoring the community’s role in nurturing its youngest members.

As families enjoyed the festivities, children selected plush toys to take home, creating lasting memories. Chea’s dedication to her patients was evident as she remarked, “When I see how happy everybody is, that’s so rewarding.”

This year’s Baby’s First Holiday party not only celebrated new beginnings but also strengthened community bonds, leaving families looking forward to future gatherings. As Lynn Women’s Health continues to serve its community, the impact of events like these resonates far beyond the holiday season.
