UPDATE: Mary A. Yurasits, aged 94, has passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the Fellowship Community in Whitehall, Northampton. Her family confirmed the news, marking the end of a remarkable life filled with love and dedication.
Born on November 6, 1931, in Kreidersville, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Loikits) Stutzenberger. She was previously married to John Yurasits, who preceded her in death in 2024. The loss of Mary is felt deeply by her family and community.
Mary was a proud graduate of Northampton High School, where she was known for her spirited involvement as a member of the high school Eight Balls. She dedicated many years of her life working as a secretary at Novagratz Tax Office, contributing to the local economy and supporting her community.
A devout member of the Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, Mary’s faith was an integral part of her life. Her commitment to her church underscores the profound impact she had on those around her.
Mary is survived by her four children: Lorene Kahler and husband Randy, Rochelle Reice and husband Richard, Sharon Urbanczuk and husband Roman, and Gary Yurasits and wife Sherri. She leaves behind a legacy of love with her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, along with her sister, Rose Laury, and several nieces and nephews. Tragically, she was preceded in death by her son John, two grandchildren, and a nephew.
Services: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Saturday, January 17th, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. at Queenship of Mary Catholic Church, located at 1324 Newport Ave., Northampton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m., with interment taking place in the parish cemetery.
