The free event unfolded just south of West 67th Street on West Drive, near the iconic marathon finish line. Kids raced in various distances, enjoying games and family-friendly activities that fostered community spirit and enthusiasm for running.
According to the nonprofit, many participants are involved in the Rising New York Road Runners program, which supports an impressive 200,000 students across the country, including 100,000 right here in New York City. This initiative emphasizes the importance of youth engagement in physical activity, promoting wellness and camaraderie among young athletes.
This event is a precursor to the highly anticipated TCS New York City Marathon, which will take place next Sunday, November 2, 2025. More than 50,000 runners from around the globe, representing a diverse range of experience levels, ages, genders, abilities, and backgrounds, are set to flood the streets of New York City for this monumental race.
